1.Teaser Tuesday( Sorry by the way this is late.)

INFO: So here at The Blooming Reader and various other book blogs, we do a little something called Teaser Tuesdays. If you never heard of it, it's where I give you enticing quote(s) from my current read, to tease you. Hence the name, TEASER Tuesday.

OK.. moving on. I am currently reading this mindblowing book that I can't wait to finish! The storyline is awesome, the characters are amazing, and the cover(which lured me into reading it in the first place) is GORGEOUS!
It's called.....
"THE FORSAKEN" Information below.

Here come the teasers...

"Hide! Hide!" my mom whispers harshly. She grabs my arm, hard enough to bruise it through my pajamas, and yanks me out of bed. We're halfway across my room when I hear a deafening crack. Our front door is beginning to splinter. "Run!" my mom screams, pushing me into the hallway. I see my dad at the front door, desperately trying to barricade it with furniture. There's no time to hide. No time to reach the kitchen and the hollowed-out space in the wall behind the refigerator. The front door gives way.....

As an obedient orphan of the U.N.A. (the super-country that was once Mexico, the U.S., and Canada), Alenna learned at an early age to blend in and be quiet—having your parents taken by the police will do that to a girl. But Alenna can’t help but stand out when she fails a test that all sixteen-year-olds have to take: The test says she has a high capacity for brutal violence, and so she is sent to The Wheel, an island where all would-be criminals end up.

The life expectancy of prisoners on The Wheel is just two years, but with dirty, violent, and chaotic conditions, the time seems a lot longer as Alenna is forced to deal with civil wars for land ownership and machines that snatch kids out of their makeshift homes. Desperate, she and the other prisoners concoct a potentially fatal plan to flee the island. Survival may seem impossible, but Alenna is determined to achieve it anyway.
